Coolibar encourages people to combine the best sunscreen with the
best sun protective clothing to avert the risks of skin cancer

MINNEAPOLIS August 7, 2008 -- All sunscreens are not created equal. That is why Coolibar, the nation's leading sun protective clothing manufacturer, is sharing with consumers the top 10 dermatologist recommended sunscreen brands. This year, topping the list as the most recommended sunscreen by leading dermatologists are Neutrogena, Coppertone,Aveeno, Blue Lizard and SolBar. For the sixth consecutive year, UPF clothing manufacturer Coolibar has conducted a survey among the nation's leading dermatologists to determine their recommendations for the best sunscreen and sun protective practices. This year's survey, completed by 1,045 dermatologists, reveals the most reliable sunscreens and highlights sun protective clothing as integral to sun safety.

"We want to educate people about the most effective ways to stay protected from the sun," said John Barrow, founder and president of Coolibar. "Sun screens continue to get better and better and we promote the use of them, particularly in combination with wearing sun protective clothing. Used together, kids and adults significantly reduce their risk of getting skin cancer and sustaining life-long damage to their skin."

According to Coolibar's survey, which was conducted at the 2008 American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting, the top 10 dermatologist recommended sunscreen brands, listed in order of preference, are:

1. Neutrogena
2. Coppertone
3. Aveeno
4. Blue Lizard
5. SolBar
6. Oil of Olay
