Health and Sun Protection Information

A number of health problems are directly related to excessive sun exposure ranging from sunburn to melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer. Other disorders, such as albinism, lupus, ichthyosis and vitiligo, mean individuals have to live with significantly heightened sun sensitivity. Also, many drugs (including antibiotics, diuretics and antidepressants) increase sun sensitivity and the potential for problems from overexposure to the sun. Here we discuss these health problems and provide resources for developing a sun-safe lifestyle.
