Coolibar’s SPF clothing is also amazingly cool and comfortable. It starts with extraordinarily lightweight fabrics, such as lite SUNTECT® and dri SUNTECT®. These sun protective fabrics are made from microfibers that contain advanced levels of titanium dioxide. The titanium dioxide, which is a UV diffuser also used in sunscreen, won't ever wash out or fade away - meaning Coolibar sun protection fabrics provide permanent UV protection. These lightweight fabrics are then used in garment styles that are designed with hidden ventilation and mesh panels for airflow and comfort. The end result is that Coolibar’s sun clothing is cool to wear and provides excellent sun protection.
All Coolibar's SPF clothing is rated for sun protection with an Ultraviolet Protection Factor or UPF. Garments are tested for their ability to block both UVA and UVB when brand new and when they are at the end of their life. Most regular garments will lose some of their sun protection capability as they age. A UPF 50+ rating on Coolibar sun clothes means the garment blocks 98% UV or more – even at the end of it’s life. This level of sun protection – UPF 50+ at the end of life – is protection unmatched by any other brand of sun protective clothing.
