Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultra Sports Hat despite being expensive, its a very recommended investment as its capable of fully protecting my face from the direct sunlight radiation as well as the bouncing radiation from all around me, I wouldnt try to do serious heavy sports with it as the sweat accumulates within it and it get hards to breathe especially in the heat of the midday, but then I dont know of any better hat that one can wear and feel comfortable jogging in the midday, for gentle walking its capable of both protecting the wearer as well as keeping it comfortable, highly recommended for anyone who has to stay outdoors in situations when the sun and radiation go really high

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Blows in the wind like the Flying Nun The hat provides good coverage but as others have said, the placement of the velcro makes no sense. ??? using the velcro to make the largest opening, it fits across my nose making it hard to breath. ?? ??? if the hat is closed using the velcro it is very hot inside! ??? using the velcro isn't practicable. ??? if the flaps are left to drape, they provide good coverage from direct sun--as long as the wind isn't blowing and I'm not walking. ??The slightest breeze and the hat does a "Flying Nun" . I haven't found a way to keep the flaps from flapping but I think either weights along the bottom sides or something in the hem to stiffen the hem might work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sun block I mow a lot of grass, and don't need all the sun on my sensitive skin. I wear long pants and long sleeve shirts. This hat tops off the uniform.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shortcomings I bought one of these hats a couple of years ago. It provides very good sun protection, especially when the flaps are wrapped around the face. However, I have two serious complaints. - This hat will cook your brains in direct sunlight when the tempature is over 75 degrees. The crown needs to have vents to let out the heat.. - The velcro strips on the flaps are not properly placed. They simply don't work. I had a beard for a few months and was able to get the velcro to attach to my beard around my chin, but this is the closest I came to getting the flaps to cover the sides and front of my face.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly Perfect I bought this hat to cover me in my mid-day mowing. Hat works great but the first velcro closure seems to be misplaced. I had to make adjustments and then it was fine. Good screening coverage, not too hot and easy to wash out after each use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from plus and minus The adjustable head band is comfortable and easy to fit. It doesn't blow off in the wind. But the Velcro is scratchy and hard to attach.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Velcro is Scratching My Face The velcro is scratching my face. I am planning to remove the velcro and put them in the right places or use the small metal buttons to hold the flaps together. There has to be a better way than using velcro. Or perhaps, you can make provisions to let the end user adjust the positions of the velcro. Honestly, I am disappointed with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great protection, but needs improvement The only problem with this hat is that the Velcro on the flaps is in the wrong place. When you cover your face, it's too tight. I'll have to modify it then it should be a great hat.
