I bought this hat to prevent sun exposure to my ears and face where I have had squamous cell skin cancer occur several times.  It not only provides the protection I need but it's comfortable to wear, cool in the hot Florida sun and is made of top quality material.  I want to buy another hat in different colors now so I don't wear out my original purchase.

I bought this hat for myself several years ago, when going on a trip to Mexico. I pack it, stuff it, fish it out of the water ( it floats!) and wear the heck out of it! And the hat still looks great!! The convienent connected neck/face scarf keep the sun off when needed and folds into brim when not! I love this hat so much that I recently bought my son the same hat! I know it will become his favorite hat too!

This hat was exactly what I was looking for and a great value.

When I first received the hat, I tried it on and looked at myself in the mirror, and didn't like the way it looked on me. The brim is too stiff, flat and wide for my taste, as I became accustomed to wearing a boonie hat when I was out in the sun. Based on the pictures on the website and in the catalog, I thought this hat would be more like a boonie hat, but I was wrong. However, in cases where I'm not concerned about my appearance, the hat serves me well for its intended purpose of protecting my bald head from the sun.
