I purchased this so that I could go to the beach with my son as I have a medical condition preventing me from being in UV light. I used the tent, along with the long sleeve and pant "swim wear" from Coolibar and was able to sit outside for more than an hour without problem - normally I would have a problem if I were to be outside less than five minutes.  The tent is three sided, which is great for sun protection, but hinders your view. If you don't need full protection, you might want to get something else. The only other issue is that when we were preparing to leave, it was very windy, and thus hard to collapse the tent. Otherwise, it was good.
