I have several of these gaiters. I use them for biking, gardening, and water sports. They are a good size, maybe a little too loose for me, but better than no neck protection.
The sun gaiter and sun sleeves are essential for driving to work in horrid Miami (I'm a New Yorker), but I wish the sun gaiter was a bit wider on one end so it could cover the chest area a bit. (BTW, never stop selling the solbar sunblock...i need it always.
At first, based on the Coolibar model photo, i was excited about this product, and subsequently ordered 4 in different pretty colors. Then I quickly learned that they all look sloppy on me and as a result all 4 sit in a dresser drawer. There should be 2 sizes, one for women's size neck, one for men's neck. The 2 necks are NOT created equal!
I bought the Sun Gaiter to use while cycling, golfing and riding in a car to keep the sun off my neck. The theory behind the Sun Gaiter is an excellent idea; however, the Gaiter could probably use a light weight string to pull to make it actually gather closer to the neck. I find that when using it simply as a neck protector, it is loose and exposes some of my neck skin.
I brought this to Hawaii and it worked great in the harsh tropical sun. Some bald guy was burning the top of his head in Hanauma Bay while snorkeling, he really wanted my hat!
This is the only item I have ever returned from Coolibar. If you have a larger neck or really big frizzy hair like me there is no way that you can take full advantage of the sun gaitor looks as displayed by the model.
This will really protect neck and head from the sun. Great to wear under a hat.
