Rated 2 out of 5 by from awkward vail connection I love the concept of the hat. It is very comfortable. The fabric is soft to the touch but durable. I love the"vail" for sun protection. The only critique I have is that the velcro on the inside back of the hat, the part that attaches to the velcro on the vail, is under the elastic on the back of the hat. This creates a bulky awkward folding of the the vail fabric & the hat's elastic. This also makes the velcro seal is unstable. A simple change in the seam placement of the elastic to the back of the hat would solve this problem. The seam attaching the elastic should be toward the top of the hat not the bottom. That way the vail would velcro in like a slice of cheese into a pita. There were no instructions with the hat on how to attach the vail. If I saw it in a store and had a chance to handle the item & put it on, I don't think I would have bought it because of the awkward connection. But, maybe this is an aberration? I do like other items from Coolibar

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Coolibar sun draped hat This hat is too tight. The very top portion barely fits on my head, and the drape across my face is not roomy enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this hat. The bill on this hat is way too wide and stiff and the hat slides around on your head. It is ill-designed and I would not recommend anyone buy it, no matter how big your head is. There is no chin strap and the velcro that is supposed to hold the face protection in place keeps coming from the hat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best face protection for a skin care expert! I love Coolibar's designs and fabrics. The Draped Sun Hat is versatile, cool and protective. I wear it fishing, gardening and hiking. It protects me from the harsh Australian sun.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea, terrible design I usually love Coolibar quality but this hat is nonfunctional. When you need to be outside, how are you supposed to fasten the huge coconut shell looking buttons with that small loop? Plus my hat is missing loops. The velcro is not placed correctly so pulls my hair out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complicated for a hat.... I was intrigued by the product photos, and had high hopes for this hat. I was looking for a hat with an easily adjustable drape. When I go walking and turn to face the sun, I want to be able to quickly pull up something to shield my face from the sun, without the bulk and restricted breathing of a bandana. Unfortunately, this hat is not it. I really like the wide brim, but the face drape thing is a mess. The buttons are tedious to fasten, and leave the drape either WAY too low or blocking my vision. Also, the velcro is positioned oddly, and when the drape is attached the seam allowance on the back of the hat flips down and shows. I may try to remove the buttons and add some type of elastic drawstring cord -- I think that would work better. I wonder if the person who designed this actually tried to wear it ??

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrid design What they don't show you is the buttons, and ill-made 1" Velcro pieces throughout the inside of the hat. It's not regular Velcro, and won't last more than probably a dozen times. And buttons? It didn't even show buttons on this thing. Or the Velcro for that matter. The photos shown are cleverly done so you don't see the whole left side where the little bungee-type loops clip around the big, ugly buttons. I bought this to wear while driving as my allergy has gotten that severe, and it's the first time I ordered anything from this company. I have to say I am VERY disappointed. I took images to show, and wrapped it right back up and it's returning to sender asap. Horrible!!
