HOW TO MEASURE YOUR RIGHT SIZE
Use a soft tape measure.
- Height: Stand in stocking feet, with feet together, back to the wall. Measure from crown of head to the floor
- Arm: Bend arm to 90 degrees. Place hand on hip. Start at center of back of neck measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the wrist. Number on inches equals your sleeve length.
- Bust/Chest: With the arms relaxed down at sides, measure fullest part of bust/chest, keeping tape parallel to floor.
- Hip: Stand with heels together, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.
- Neck: Measure around base of the neck (the lowest point of the neck). Number of inches equals the neck size.
- Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fits you well. Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom of the hem. Number of inches equals inseam length.
- Rise: Start the tape at the center back waist, run the tape between your legs, pulling comfortably at the crotch and up your natural waist. Total measurement is your rise.
- Waist: Measure around your waist, against your skin (not over your shirt or pants) at the height you normally wear your pants.
- Head: Measure around your head, from the center of your forehead, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.

Missing toggle for chin strap
I was disappointed that the hat did not come with a toggle to tighten the chin strap. The photo is misleading. Hat would be perfect with the toggle for the chin strap.

Many options with this hat. I wear a boys L/XL versus an adult size (22-1/2) which is too big.

Nice Hat - Runs Small
This hat is great quality and a beautiful color but the sizing is a bit off. I ordered the kids size 4-8 years for my 4 year old daughter and the hat BARELY fit; her head is not overly large so I'm not sure if this particular hat ran small. She might be able to wear it a few times this summer but that is all; bummer. Another small design flaw is a missing toggle closure for the "Y" piece; most of the other Coolibar sun hats have this feature to ensure the hat stays secure. Otherwise the quality and make is exaclty what you would expect from Coolibar!

Nice hat, but missing one important detail
Nicely made hat for my son, but there is no toggle to adjust the chin strap...look closely at the photo and you’ll see it is simply knotted. To me this defeats the purpose of having a chin strap... Per the other review, if you are an adult thinking of buying this hat, your head needs to be super small...I tried on my son’s XL and it didn’t even fit on my head... this is made for kids.

Great hat!
We have been using the kids all sport hat for years. This one may be our new favorite! I love how you can tuck the flap away when you don’t need the added protection. My son loved the material and has worn this hat for the past several days. It is definitely kid approved. He has worn this hat swimming and hiking. After the hat gets wet, it dries really quickly...which is something that he really liked. Will definitely be needing some more of these. :)
