Measure circumference of hand around fullest part just below the knuckles, excluding thumb. Use right hand if right handed, and left hand if left-handed. PLEASE NOTE: The measurements on our size chart are very similar to most major clothing companies. However, we generally allow for a relaxed fit - geared for outdoor activity, travel or a casual outing. Pants, skirts, blouses and polo shirts have extra room for comfort and are not body hugging.
When fitting jackets, cover-ups or any outerwear, our fit model is wearing the appropriate under layers that we would expect you to be wearing. You do not have to "size up" - we have done that for you.
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR RIGHT SIZE
Never try to measure yourself. Seek the help of a companion and use a soft tape measure.
- Height: Stand in stocking feet, with feet together, back to the wall. Measure from top of head to the floor.
- Arm: Bend arm to 90 degrees. Place hand on hip. Start at center of back of neck. Measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the wrist. Number of inches equals your sleeve length.
- Bust/Chest: With the arms relaxed down at sides, measure fullest part of bust/chest, keeping tape parallel to floor.
- Hip: Stand with heels together, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.
- Neck: Measure around base of the neck (the lowest point of the neck). Number of inches equals the neck size.
- Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fits you well. Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom hem. Number of inches equal inseam length.
- Rise: Start the tape at the center back waist, run the tape between your legs, pulling comfortably at the crotch and up your natural waist. Total measurement is your rise.
- Waist: Measure around your waist, against your skin (not over your shirt or pants) at the height you normally wear your pants.
- Head: Measure around your head, from the center of your forehead, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.

Beautiful shirt but...
I was so excited to see that plus sizes were offered and couldn't wait to try this shirt. It is a beautiful, soft fabric and well-made. Unfortunately, the sizing is off. The body of the shirt fit generously but the armhole was extremely small to the point of discomfort. Plus sizes often need a little more adjustment than just straight sizing up, especially in areas like the arms. I had to return it and don't plan on ordering a larger size because then the body will be too big.

Attractive and comfortable
This loose fitting shirt is comfortable and good looking. It works for me in the blazing high altitude sun and is a nice change from my other UPF shirts that are hiking specific. Casual but it doesn't look like I'm wearing a technical piece of clothing.

Very comfortable
I love this shirt! It is so comfortable. The fabric is very soft and requires only touch up ironing if I want to look less casual. For everyday wear around the house or garden, I don’t iron at all.
I bought a size larger than I really needed because I prefer very loose clothes due to neurodermitis on my back. I could have purchased my true size, and the fit would have been fine.

Perfect fit
I bought this shirt on sale, lucky me, and I love it. It fits perfectly, sleeves are not tight. I bought a large instead of medium and I really do love it. It drapes so nice and after washing, needs no ironing except for hem (curls up). One of my favorite tops from Coolibar. Thank you

Beautiful fabric, but...
Looks beautiful (great fabric), but I couldn’t button the neck—too tight (no problem). I would also have to take it to alteration to re-do the buttonholes on the sleeves (the sleeves are too long, so I would need to roll them up). I decided to return the top.

New summer leggings from
A wardrobe staple
All girls know a jean button down top is a versatile and must-have piece in your closet. This shirt does not disappoint. I replaced an almost identical shirt with this one because I preferred to have the sun-protection. It's great over black leggings and brown boots, or over white jeans and sandals, or tied at the waist with shorts or a boho skirt. I decided to buy this so that I could take a break from the seaside hoodie or other coverups I usually wear over my swimsuit. This looks great worn as an open shirt to cover up poolside. Also great to throw in my tote and use when I need a bit of warmth in the car or plane.
I wear a medium and this fits just right. It's a bit loose as shown on the model. The color is right on - just dark enough to both be casual everyday and can be dressed up for Fridays at the office straight to dinner. I took off one star because the Coolibar logo is very prominent on the front chest - I wish it was more subtle.

Looks great, bad fit
I love denim shirts for their comfort and versatility. This shirt was purchased to wear over t-shirts etc. for sun protection. The quality is good, lightweight, nice style, but the sleeves were very tight. I unhappily sent back, and ordered a jacket that I love.

Terrible Cut
This is one of the worst cut shirts I have ever encountered. The arms feel like a vise grip because the armholes are cut so strangely. This is even though I have average sized arms and accidentally ordered the shirt a size too large. Armhole tightness has never, ever been an issue with me in shirts that either fit properly or are too big. This is a real shame because the fabric and style are more attractive than average. Also, this shirt is unusually short in the tail, which seems strange for a casual sun protection garment.

Light Blue Chambray is ill fitting
After reading some good reviews and some stating that this shirt had tight arms, I ordered it. Mistake. Not sure what color the folks ordered who gave this a good review, perhaps the other colors fit differently but the light blue chambray is very ill fitting - arms are tight from elbow up despite the body being loose. I don’t have large upper arms but this shirt is a miss. Too bad as it would be very versatile. Going back...

Disappointed in the funny fit
I like the weight of the shirt, not heavy like most chambray. The torso was nice and loose, which I also liked, but the upper arms were really tight. If you are big-busted but have twiggy arms it would be perfect. Alas, I have real woman arms, so the sleeves were a bit uncomfortable. I would have returned it, but I had taken off the tags and thrown away the return slip. Guess I'll have to do some upper arm exercises (joking--not gonna happen). This is the first item from Coolibar that has been a disappoinment, so I'll keep buying things--BUT I'll make sure I'm satisfied with the fit before tossing the material needed for returns! My favorite clothing from Coolibar--the sun wrap!! More colors in this, please!! How about a soft pink?

One of a kind!
I was thrilled when I saw that Coolibar released an SPF jean shirt. For someone who is always on the hunt for new SPF clothing, this is definitely a unique item. Super versatile as it can be worn as its own shirt or a cover-up to whatever is underneath. The material is amazing (especially for jean material), it’s not stiff at all. I purchased an XS as that’s my normal size and its baggier and boxier than I would like, but I prefer fitted clothing. While I still plan on getting some good use out of it, I know I would wear it more if it was more fitted.

I bought this shirt. The material is nice and the color great. But...I am usually a size 18 and I purchased this size. The arms were too tight and it did not fit across the bust. Too bad. I am sending it back. Not sure about the sizing these days

Versatile & cute
I bought this shirt to wear on a vacation in Norway where the sun never sets. I wore it every day on a boat and into the evening. Never got sunburned, wrinkles hung out every night in the closet. I didn't find it boxy as some of the other reviewers did. It was soft over my tank suit & a warm layer in the evening over a long sleeve shirt. Added jewelry & scarves to dress it up for evenings.

Protection with style
I am 5' 7", 132 lbs of lean muscle, have a 35" inch torso and a medium fits great. I've worn this shirt unbuttoned with a cami underneath, skinny jeans and sandals, I've worn it with white leggings and a tank, black leggings and a tee..... It's designed to protect your skin so the material is a bit heavier than some button downs sold elsewhere. It and can be a little warm but it's designed to cover. This shirt has one sole purpose and that is to protect. The hems curl on my shirt after a washing like any other denim shirt. I do not dry mine. Instead, I tumble it for only a minute, hang and reshape it. If the hems are wrinkled a cool iron solves that problem. It's sleeves roll up and are secured by little straps that hide in the sleeves if you like them mid-forearm. I wear it cuffed back revealing my wrist. This shirt is true to size

Great casual shirt
I don't usually buy many casual clothes, but I was impressed with the fit of this shirt and the softness of the fabric. The convertible sleeve tabs holds the sleeves up when you roll them. Compared to other woven shirts I've owned, this gives you a full range of motion and isn't tight or restricting anywhere. Super cute!

Not up to Coolibar standards
The material is definitely heavier than the other shirts on Coolibard. The shoulders and upper arms are very tight compared to the rest of the shirt, which is boxy. After washing, it only got worse with the hem curling up. Not a good choice for your money.

My first Coolibar return...
Like the previous reviewer, I thought this looked cute in the catalog and was anxious to get it in the mail. It really is a dud though. I'm petite (just over 5' tall, and just under 100 lbs.) and I thought it was short and wide. Definitely boxy, and a little sloppy looking. The fabric is soft, but not particularly lightweight. In the catalog the logo is not shown on the pocket. That was a big turnoff too. I prefer not to have a logo at all, and this one is not discreet. I did like the two buttons at the cuff so I can adjust the cuff to best fit my wrist. Back it goes...

Returned it
I returned this shirt right away. It was very boxy. Too big width wise and too tight in the shoulders. I was very disappointed because it looked cute online, but in person was just ugly and awkward.
