Due to the range of fabrics and styles, each hat fits slightly different. See individual hat circumferences in the Highlights section of the product page. Our One Size hats are designed to fit most.

HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR HAT SIZE: Measure around your head, from the center of your forehead, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.

Circumference (inches) 6 - 7 7 - 8 ½ 8 ½ - 10

Measure circumference of hand around fullest part just below the knuckles, excluding thumb. Use right hand if right handed, and left hand if left-handed. Measure hand in inches and refer to the sizing chart for your glove size. Use the larger number to determine your size. People with extra long fingers, or who would like a looser fit should consider ordering a size up.

PLEASE NOTE: The measurements on our size chart are very similar to most major clothing companies. However, we generally allow for a relaxed fit - geared for outdoor activity, travel or a casual outing. Pants, skirts, blouses and polo shirts have extra room for comfort and are not body hugging.

When fitting jackets, cover-ups or any outerwear, our fit model is wearing the appropriate under layers that we would expect you to be wearing. You do not have to "size up" - we have done that for you.

Never try to measure yourself. Seek the help of a companion and use a soft tape measure.

  • Height: Stand in stocking feet, with feet together, back to the wall. Measure from top of head to the floor.
  • Arm: Bend arm to 90 degrees. Place hand on hip. Start at center of back of neck. Measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the wrist. Number of inches equals your sleeve length.
  • Bust/Chest: With the arms relaxed down at sides, measure fullest part of bust/chest, keeping tape parallel to floor.
  • Hip: Stand with heels together, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.
  • Neck: Measure around base of the neck (the lowest point of the neck). Number of inches equals the neck size.
  • Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fits you well. Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom hem. Number of inches equal inseam length.
  • Rise: Start the tape at the center back waist, run the tape between your legs, pulling comfortably at the crotch and up your natural waist. Total measurement is your rise.
  • Waist: Measure around your waist, against your skin (not over your shirt or pants) at the height you normally wear your pants.
  • Head: Measure around your head, from the center of your forehead, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the pants, boring colors and patterns. I have these pants in black and wore them in the Solomon Islands where is was super hot and humid. Surprisingly the black kept me cool. It does not absorb the heat like you would typical black garments. I just wish Coolibar would make some fun bright island colors and some younger, more fun patterns.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Travels well I bought these pants for a trip to Africa. After 48 hrs on a plane and airport lounges, they still looked great. I don’t use them as roll ups so am not bothered as other reviewers are. I love the fabric. It is soft and drapes well. I usually wear a size 8, bought size small, and the fit is perfect. I am 5’6” and cut about 1 1/2” off for a new hem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft and beautiful material I wore the roll up pants for the first time today, spent all day outdoors, and kept fairly cool. They are super comfortable, feel soft and luxurious against the skin, and are super comfortable. I oredered a medium and they’re perfect and I think they’ll still be perfect when I lose a bit of weight. I’m 5’5” and weigh 139. The only complaint I have is that there’s only one tab on each leg to fasten the roll up and therefore they don’t stay up properly. For that price and quality each leg should have two tabs to fasten the pants.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Order one size down I have bought Coolibar pants before, always in Small. These are huge and very long. You will need to hem them. One inside tab does not allow for the leg to stay rolled up. Very disappointed in Coolibar's measurements and design. The fabric is light and airy, no complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Travel I love traveling in these pants. Looked great after a 4 hour flight. Worked well in the Ecuadorian heat. I am a size 10 and my only regret was that I should have purchased a medium.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wait For Better Design The concept is great, execution missed the mark. I should have read the reviews. As others have said, there are no tabs on the leg inseams to hold up the rolled leg. So, I have safety pins on the inseam of each leg to hold the fold up. I like the material, the blue color and the fact that it’s sun protective so I’m giving it two stars. I do believe in Coolibar, BIG fan, just not a fan of these pants.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t buy Don’t buy! I spent a lot of time measuring and comparing in picking a Size – waste of time. These way too big. I would have to pay someone to both hem them and remake them – so they’re going back...But it will cost me to send them back! So don’t buy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design flaw I bought these pants to wear on an upcoming trip to SE Asia where the temperatures are expected to be in the 90s and humid. I thought it would be a great option to have pants that I could use as pants when going into temples and also roll them up when we are not. The problem is, there are tabs only on the outside of the pants so that when they are rolled, only that side stays up. The other side rolls down. The only solution I could figure out was to roll them up and stitch the inside on each leg. There goes the long pants. This would be an easy problem to fix. Just add another tab on the inside of each leg. I have other pants that are designed with tabs on both sides. I called customer service and they had no useful suggestions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants!!!! I bought these pants in three colors! They travel well and are so lightweight and comfortable! I have worn them hiking in cooler weather and were great; yet, I know they will be as great in warmer weather. A nice addition to my sun protection wardrobe!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs more design work The main complaint that I have with these pants is that the roll up hem is not secured on the inseam side. There is a button flap on the outside of the leg to secure the roll, but nothing on the inside so the roll falls out and looks dumpy. I will have to figure out a way to secure the roll on the inseam. It does this because the fabric is slippery. For the price, I'd expect more. These are baggy pants, not as slim fit as the photo on the Coolibar site. I do like the flat front, with a drawstring that runs from the sides to the center front. As shown, the back is elasticized. Might be nice to have the drawstring run the entire waistband instead of 1/2 and 1/2. They would look a little less functional and alot more stylish. There is plenty of length for tall women. I'm 5'2" and will have to either hem them or roll them to wear as full length pants. There are 2 zippered pockets on the back, big enough to fit a fist in. The zippers are invisible zippers, giving the garment a little more class. There is a side zippered pocket on the leg, a little larger than credit card size. My experience with this type of fabric is that one can't carry heavy things in them (cell phone) because they will make the pants sag on you. The fabric is thin, which is a plus, and I am hoping these will be great pants for hot days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable active/travel pants Great sun protection and very loose for active hiking/biking etc. Not the most flattering due to how loose they are. I wish the had a more cotton feel like some of the other lines, but still good pants.
