Aqua Helios™ Fabric
Our Aqua Helios fabric provides medium compression for added support and shape retention. With a slick handfeel, chlorine and saltwater resistance and 4-way stretch, this breathable, quick-dry UPF 50+ fabric is designed for active water wear. We developed it as a sustainable fabric made with a recycled fiber blend and Lycra® Xtra Life™ to resist perspiration and wear from chlorinated water up to 10 times longer than most spandex.

Great purchase - highly recommended!
Bought this in white for travel to Hawaii. Really liked what it provided in sun protection with the hood and thumb slits to protect your scalp, neck and hands from the blistering sun. Fit was perfect - bought a large for a 6'4" 200lb frame. The hood brim is great for just sitting out if you want protection, or it can fold up for snorkeling. A great purchase and highly recommended.

The rash guard I've been waiting for
This is the rash guard I've been waiting for: it protects not only the body but the scalp and the back of the head. Even if you wear a separate head, the back of the neck is a difficult area to protect. I don't mind the built-in visor, but I'm not in love with it. It flips up, which is useful when you're snorkeling, but I have a hunch that as the fabric loses elasticity, "accidental" flipping will occur frequently. Personally, if I could opt out of the visor, I would. Love the thumbholes and what I'll call the "zipper-guard" feature--there's fabric between the hardware and your skin--a much-appreciated detail.I'd love it if Coolibar added some more interesting colors and patterns--the white is boring, and the blue is just too solid. How about some skin tones with artful tattoo patterns (Polynesian-style, or with a "sleeve" of images). LEt's have some pizzazz along with our sun protection!

Rash Guard wHood for Watersports
I use this rash guard on my Gofoil and it is perfect. I don't wear gloves now because the thumbholes helps me cover most of my hands, the cloth is substantial and comforting because I am now confident of nearly zero exposure to the UV. Very happy with my purchase.....

great surf shirt
Size large is a good fit for 6'2' 180lb with 36"+ arm length. fits as pictured. Hood stays in place through surf wipeouts. 1/4 zip makes it easy to get on and off and helps avoid getting sun screen on the shirt.

First edition good; could be great with revisions
This hooded rash guard is a great concept and I'm glad I purchased it, it'll get used nonstop here in Hawaii... but it needs some slight changes to make it even better. It is well constructed and has generally great coverage. For us surfers, it's hard to be well covered and stay athletic in the turbulent water we frequent and I find this rash guard stays in place. Love the coverage from head to hands. I love having my neck and ears protected. Next version should address these faults: There need to be tiny perforations at the opening of the ears to allow water to drain easier and prevent suction. Any time I duck under the waves, the rash guard adheres to my ears and causes suction, painfully trapping water in my ear canals. (Da Kine makes a version with tiny perforations, see theirs for ideas). I am disappointed Coolibar does not make this in a women's version. I bought the men's version but find it is ill-fitting of course on a women's body: too narrow in the waist, too long in the torso, too narrow in the bust. I'm glad Coolibar included a zippered pocket for safe-keeping of items out in the water, however, they need to make a smaller one on the side of the upper sleeve (as in their other rashguards) which is great for safely containing a car key, easily accessible and visible (for reassurance out in the water that the key is indeed still there). I find it hard to locate my key in the huge back pocket of this rashguard, digging around in there while holding onto my surfboard is tricky. I'd love if this could be offered in some brighter colors for safety and better visibility in the water, a bright, vibrant purple or pink, orange, red. It would be great if the sewn-in brim (which is a great idea!) were a little broader, wrapping around over the ears to give better coverage to the cheeks, which aren't covered by rash guard material. Which leads me to my final suggestion: My ideal rash guard would have full coverage of the face, like your sailing hoodies, with a retractable lower face guard. Just add the visor and some perforations for the ears and the nose/mouth (like your fishing gaiter) and it's a perfect surfing and watersports rash guard.
