"I would not expect a black hat to keep my head cool, but this hat is fantastic. I'm in the Arizona sun and worked outside last week on the hottest day of the year - but this had kept my head shaded and cool. It has already replaced all my other sun hats. My only ding is that it was shipped/packaged folded; the shapeable brim thus is proving very hard to fully re-flatten. I know the rim is supposed to give and be shapable, but I really like that flat look. Still though, I love this hat!"
