Due to the range of fabrics and styles, each hat fits slightly different. See individual hat circumferences in the Highlights section of the product page. Our One Size hats are designed to fit most.

HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR HAT SIZE: Measure around your head, from the center of your forehead, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.

Measure circumference of hand around fullest part just below the knuckles, excluding thumb. Use right hand if right handed, and left hand if left-handed. Measure hand in inches and refer to the sizing chart for your glove size. Use the larger number to determine your size. PLEASE NOTE: The measurements on our size chart are very similar to most major clothing companies. However, we generally allow for a relaxed fit - geared for outdoor activity, travel or a casual outing. Pants, skirts, blouses and polo shirts have extra room for comfort and are not body hugging.

When fitting jackets, cover-ups or any outerwear, our fit model is wearing the appropriate under layers that we would expect you to be wearing. You do not have to "size up" - we have done that for you.

Never try to measure yourself. Seek the help of a companion and use a soft tape measure.

  • Height: Stand in stocking feet, with feet together, back to the wall. Measure from top of head to the floor.
  • Arm: Bend arm to 90 degrees. Place hand on hip. Start at center of back of neck. Measure across the shoulder to the elbow and down to the wrist. Number of inches equals your sleeve length.
  • Bust/Chest: With the arms relaxed down at sides, measure fullest part of bust/chest, keeping tape parallel to floor.
  • Hip: Stand with heels together, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.
  • Neck: Measure around base of the neck (the lowest point of the neck). Number of inches equals the neck size.
  • Inseam: Take a pair of pants that fits you well. Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom hem. Number of inches equal inseam length.
  • Rise: Start the tape at the center back waist, run the tape between your legs, pulling comfortably at the crotch and up your natural waist. Total measurement is your rise.
  • Waist: Measure around your waist, against your skin (not over your shirt or pants) at the height you normally wear your pants.
  • Head: Measure around your head, from the center of your forehead, keeping tape straight and parallel to the floor. Measure around fullest part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flattering fit I am 5’3”, 125 pounds and wear a small in Coolibar tops. This shirt is slightly closer fit than the performance shirt, with plenty of stretch, so more flattering. The green is a light, but true green. Not mint or chartreuse. The armpit area is made of a vented fabric, nice, but doesn’t really show, as it’s absolutely the same color. Cuffs are finished, nice for wearing rolled.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and comfty I've played golf in this shirt 3 times, 2 cold weather under a short sleeve shirt and once in warm weather - so far very impressed. Ready to try in hot weather as I need to cover up due to skin cancer issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good shirt for hot climate 18 months ago I purchased 3 Coolibar sun polos and I have pretty much worn them every day since. I live in a hot, tropical climate in Australia, and I have been diagnosed with skin cancer, so wearing long sleeves, collars and a big sun hat has become second nature to me (despite the sweat factor). Recently I decided to purchase 2 more polos to add to my colour collection. Of course, the design has changed - the new polos are now referred to as "fitness" polos and they have these mesh insert things under the arms and different material on the collar. I was anxious about going with the new design, but the old ones are no longer available. My new shirts arrived earlier this week and I was very happy with the colours - punch pink and lively mint. However the fit is just not right. The mesh panels under the arms are sort of "floppy" and they cause the material around my bust to pucker and bulge, almost as if the panels are too wide for the space they should have been sewn into. The shirt looks awkward on me. Also, the collar is nowhere near as wide, so it does not fully cover my neck when I stand it up. The collar material is different to the old shirts too, and is not as "stiff" - hence flops around a bit when I go for a run. The other thing is that the shirt sleeves now have cuffs. When I run and get very hot, I sometimes like to fold my shirt arms up to my forearms - but these new cuffs are too tight to fold back without feeling constriction on my arms, and I am worried that they might become permanently stretched if I keep doing it. Overall, these are still good shirts and I am being pretty picky. The "old" ones I have are extremely hard-wearing and great quality - as I said, I have worn the same 3 shirts nearly every day for 18 months, and they almost look brand new. I have also worn them swimming in chlorinated pools on a regular basis! I know that Coolibar recommends you don't do this, but I have found no decrease to the quality or colour of the shirts through swimming. I guess I am just wondering - Coolibar - why change a good thing? You had a terrific product already, now you have changed it and I don't think it is as good as it was. The mesh panels are a nice idea in theory, but I have trained (running) through 35degC 85% humidity conditions for months on end in the old shirts without the mesh panels - and I have not died of heat exhaustion. The shirts are brilliant at moisture-wicking. Yes, it is still hot wearing long sleeves - but in these conditions it would be hot no matter what you wore! I don't think the addition of mesh panels has enhanced the performance of your shirts. But probably it has added to the manufacturing cost and the fit is not as stream-lined as the previous version. Enough picking! I love my old polos, and perhaps I will come to love the new polos too once I have given them a chance. You can't really go wrong buying these shirts from Coolibar. They are a bit pricey, but worth every cent for the comfort and sun protection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Collar isn’t coolibar quality Nice shirt fabric from what you’d expect from coolibar but didn’t care for the collar. One of the few ideas I’ve ever returned. Coolibar charges $6.95 for the return too.
